UPDATED: Amedore's lead shrinks as count goes on
Assemblyman George Amedore's lead in the 46th Senate District is down to 52 votes, according to his campaign.
Contested ballots were counted this morning in Ulster and Schenectady counties, with Albany and Montgomery counties scheduled for later today. Greene County will be counted on Monday.
Kris Thompson said 183 votes were counted in Ulster County, where Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk netted 73 votes, and 32 votes were counted in Schenectady County, where the Republican Amedore netted 14 votes. Coming into today, Amedore had a lead of 111 votes.
According to the Tkaczyk campaign, about 24 votes will be counted in Montgomery County and about 20 votes in Albany County are set to be counted.
Update, 12:30 p.m.: Amedore spokesman Kris Thompson said that Montgomery County has finished counting its 24 votes. Amedore netted six votes in the county, growing his lead to 58 votes over Tkaczyk.
