Man charged in Schenectady with possessing forged paperwork
SCHENECTADY A forged motor vehicle document has resulted in a felony charge, authorities said.
William P. Thompson, 43, address unavailable, was charged recently with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
He is accused of possessing a forged copy of a Massachusetts Department of Transportation form June 9 in Schenectady and using it to transfer a car to a city resident, according to papers filed in court.
Thompson is accused of using the forged paperwork to avoid licensing requirements and fees related to being a car dealer in New York state and to avoid sales tax, according to papers.
