DiMezza beats Clo for Gloversville city judge
GLOVERSVILLE Republican Traci DiMezza defeated John Clo on Tuesday to become the next City Court judge in Gloversville, according to unofficial results from the Fulton County Board of Elections.
DiMezza, making her first bid for office, defeated Clo, who ran as an independent, by more than 300 votes. The unofficial tally was 2,148-1,810. The term is for 10 years and pays $127,400 annually.
Clo is a Republican who lost the Republican and the Conservative primaries to DiMezza in September by a combined 117 votes. He had the support of the county Democrats in his bid to retain the seat. Mayor Dayton King appointed Clo to the bench in December following Vincent DeSantis’ retirement. King also interviewed DiMezza and Matthew Trainor for the spot and said Clo was the best fit. Trainor dropped out the race after losing in the September primaries.
