Woman held after Schenectady stabbing
SCHENECTADY City police have a woman in custody after a domestic dispute allegedly led to a stabbing.
Police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Dearing said officers responded to a domestic dispute call around 2:30 p.m. at 844 Lincoln Ave. and found a man had been stabbed in the back of his shoulder, allegedly by his female companion.
The woman was taken into custody pending charges. The man was taken to Ellis Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Dearing said police have dealt with the couple in the past. He said their identities would likely be released later tonight.
Detectives are in the process of speaking to both parties and assessing the extent of the victim's injuries so they can decide on preliminary charges.
