Greenfield man indicted on charges that he murdered his mother
BALLSTON SPA A Greenfield man was indicted today on a second-degree murder charge after police said he killed his mother Oct. 27 and stuffed her body under a shed outside the mobile home they shared.
A Saratoga County grand jury also indicted Joshua P. McWain, 27, of 370 Daniels Road, Lot 20, on a felony charge of tampering with physical evidence.
Neighbors had noticed that the mother, Carol L. Stanford, wasn't around and called police to ask them to check on her. An investigation began, and police ultimately found her body beneath the floor of a shed accessible by a trap door.
