One woman was injured Monday night in one of two shootings in Schenectady that happened within minutes of each other, police said.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to her leg, police said. Police described her injury as non-life-threatening.
No injuries were reported in the other shooting.
The first incident happened at about 7:43 p.m. at Congress Street and Eighth Avenue, police said. Dispatchers received multiple calls for possible gunshots in the area. Officers nearby also reported hearing what they believed were gunshots, police said.
No victims were found in that shooting. The case remained under investigation Tuesday.
The second shooting happened at about 7:58 p.m., 15 minutes after the first shooting, on Poplar Street.
Officers responded there for a report of a woman possibly shot. Arriving officers found the woman there with the gunshot wound to her leg.
Detectives continued that investigation Tuesday, as well, including attempting to determine if the two shootings were related, police said.
Anyone with information on either shooting is asked to contact police at 518-788-6566.
