Troopers: Crack cocaine found hidden in child’s diaper bag during Wilton Northway stop

WILTON – A traffic stop on the Northway Tuesday led to the discovery of about 60 grams of crack cocaine hidden in a child’s diaper bag, state police said.

The child, a 2-year-old, was present in the car’s back seat, state police said.

State police charged two adults in the car, identified as driver Artiqua J. Dubois, 27, and passenger Gaill M. Jones, both of Burlington, Vt., with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.

State police made the traffic stop just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 87 in Wilton.

The trooper spoke with Dubois and spotted signs of drug use and soon searched the vehicle. During the search, the trooper located the crack cocaine in the diaper bag, state police said.

Dubois and Jones were arraigned and released to return to court later.
