SARATOGA – President Donald Trump Thursday named U.S. Rep Elise Stefanik to a bipartisan task force on reopening the economy, Stefanik’s office announced.
The task force will focus on restarting the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic is contained, the office said.
In a statement, Stefanik called the appointment an honor. She went on to say she has been speaking with North Country hospitals, health departments, elected officials, small businesses, farms and families throughout the crisis.
“Prioritizing the needs of Upstate New York and rural communities as a whole will be critical to protecting public health and restarting the American economy, getting people back to work, and easing the burden on so many families across my district and the entire country,” Stefanik’s statement read.
