A new Stewart's in Rotterdam

Stewart's Shops opened its newest store in Rotterdam this morning at the corner of Burdeck Street and Mariaville Road.

The old shop at that location remained open while the new one was being built nearby. Now that the new space is open, the old one can be demolished to make way for a new gas island, expected to pump gas by the end of the month.

A grand opening celebration will be held Friday, Oct. 24 and will include deals on gas and other Stewart's items, according toa news release issued today.

The replacement store features a walk-in beer cooler, a pizza oven, two restrooms and LED lighting.

The Malta-headquartered convenience store chain boasts more than 330 stores across eastern New York and southern Vermont. So far this year, it has opened local shops in Perth and Guilderland, a replacement shop in Troy and remodeled stores in Waterford, Schenectady, Albany, North Saratoga Lake, Stillwater, Amsterdam and Ballston Spa.
