Empire State Development CEO in Glenville Thursday
Empire State Development President and CEO Ken Adams will speak to local entrepreneurs this Thursday about making the most of the state's initiatives and programs for small businesses.
The chambers of commerce in Schenectady, Fulton and Montgomery counties are hosting the business breakfast meeting at River Stone Manor in Glenville where he will speak. They have partnered with Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, D-Rotterdam, who began organizing the event about six months ago.
"Small businesses are the bedrock of our local economy and a fundamental factor to the success of our communities," said Santabarbara in a news release. "That's why it's imperative that our small business owners and entrepreneurs have access to the vast array of state programs that can help them flourish and thrive."
Chamber of Schenectady County President Chuck Steiner said the goal of the event is to raise awareness among small business owners of the potentially missed opportunities that are out there to grow and create more jobs.
"It's a great way to connect with a major department that plays a role in helping businesses be successful," he said.
The breakfast will run from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the River Stone Manor, 1437 Amsterdam Rd.
Anyone interested in attending can register on the Chamber of Schenectady County website here. There is an admission fee of $20 per person in advance or $25 per person at the door. For more information, contact Santabarbara's office at 382-2941.
