Wednesday, July 9, 2014

A previous version of this post misidentified Mr. Civitella. His first name is Antonio.

Five new trustees and four officers have been elected to serve the Foundation for Ellis Medicine, the hospital system's fundraising arm. They will provide oversight and direction for the last leg of the foundation's five-year campaign, Our Health Our Future.

Anne Phillips, a former analyst with Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, will return as a trustee. She first joined the board in 1997 and served as chair for the 2011-12 term.

New faces to the 23-member board of trustees include:

• Antonio Civitella: The president and CEO of Transfinder, his transportation management company opened a brand new headquarters last year in downtown Schenectady, and he was recently named Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration's Syracuse district office. He is active with The National Association for Pupil Transportation and The Association of School Business Officials.

• Dean Higgins: The local attorney has previously served as assistant district attorney in Albany County, counsel to the Bureau of Medical Fraud and Abuse in the state Department of Social Services and legal advisor to the St. Mary's Hospital board in Troy, as well as conducted his own private practice. He is also a member of the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association and the New York State Bar Association.

• Donald Reisinger: The president and founder of D2 Tech Consultants, LLC and D2 Media Consultants, LLC provides Capital Region companies with marketing, consulting, IT and productivity improvement services. He serves on the board of associate trustees at Siena College, the regional advisory board of the American Heart Association and the board of directors at Living Resources.

• Laura Smith: In her role as senior project manager for MVP Health Care she manages highly visible and strategic corporate projects. She previously served as project manager for utilization management. She is certified through the Project Management Institute and accredited in Accelerating Implementation Management.

Officers for 2014-15 include: A. Emile Walraven (chair), Eugene Zeltmann (vice chair), Stephanie J.H. Roberts (secretary) and Pasquale M. Scisci (treasurer).
