Connolly is new chamber chair
Ellis Medicine President and CEO Jim Connolly has been named the new Chamber of Schenectady County chairman.
The hospital leader succeeds Northeastern Fine Jewelry owner Raymond Bleser, who served from 2012 to 2013.
"Jim has served on the chamber's board of directors for several years now," said Chamber President and CEO Charles Steiner in a news release. "Has has been a valuable contributor, and I'm thrilled that he'll be stepping into a leadership role."
Connolly has worked in health care for more than 39 years. He has led Ellis Medicine, a Schenectady-based hospital system, through a merger with two area hospitals, construction of a new medical center in Clifton Park, expansion of the Bellevue Woman's Center and the ongoing construction of an expanded emergency department on Nott Street.
The Chamber of Schenectady County serves more than 1,000 businesses and 50,000 employees throughout the Capital Region.
