Usas to chair Glenville LDC

The Glenville Local Development Corporation has named its 2014 officers.

The not-for-profit corporation was set up in 2013 to attract industry to town and maintain or grow jobs in the area through loan opportunities. Its officers meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the Glenville Municipal Center.

The 2014 board of directors includes: Richard Usas as chairperson, Scott Osswald as vice chairperson, Jim Valachovic as treasurer, Kathleen Toombs as secretary and Brian Nissley as director.

The officers were nominated and elected at the Glenville Local Development Corporation annual members meeting on Dec. 3, 2013.

“We are excited about the way the organization has come together," said Usas in a news release. "We are well-capitalized and looking forward to helping town of Glenville businesses by providing loan opportunities. Our loan guidelines and application are available online on the town’s website under economic development, and we are ready to assist our local businesses grow, create jobs, and expand."

Meetings are open to town residents. The board is looking for individuals to serve on its committees. Interested parties can contact the GLDC at 688-1221 or through the town offices at 18 Glenridge Rd.
