Serfilippi named head of Applied Robotics

A Glenville manufacturer of robotic automation equipment has a new president and CEO.

Applied Robotics Inc. announced Friday that president and CEO Michael F. Quinn would retire, effective immediately. Director of Operations John Serfilippi was named president and interim CEO.

Quinn joined Applied Robotics after 45 years of senior management and technical experience at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna supporting the US Naval Nuclear Program.

"Applied Robotics will benefit from John’s expertise and dedication to the employees and company as well as his strong commitment to the success and growth of (Applied Robotics) and our joint venture in Europe, ARE," Quinn said. "I am absolutely confident the company is in good hands.

Serfilippi has more than 30 years of corporate experience and seven years with Applied Robotics. He has experience in engineering, manufacturing and sourcing management.

“Mike certainly upped the bar in strategic planning, system engineering and root-cause analysis, and we wish him all the best," said Serfilippi. “I am passionate about the huge potential for the automation industry and Applied Robotics’ ability to harness that potential for our customers, employees, and shareholders. I see much opportunity in general industry and new business partnerships."
