Art and alcohol

At Art on Tap, you paint with a brush and a beer.

The new studio opening Saturday inside Clifton Park Center Mall brings new meaning to allowing your creative juices to flow. The "paint and drink" studio combines art classes with beer and wine, ideal for those looking to hold birthday parties, girls' nights out or team building events, its owner says.

"I am excited to be opening my first business and to have the opportunity to share my creativity with the community," said Caitlin Sise, owner of Art on Tap, in a news release. "Art is an outlet for fun and relaxation, and I look forward to sharing the experience with others."

The studio is located between Alpin Haus and JCPenney at the mall. Individuals can register online for two-hour classes, which are held each night of the week and during the day on weekends. Children's instructional classes will also be provided on a weekly basis.

The classes are designed for any level — from a novice to a professional — and will introduce designs that go beyond canvas painting and encompass a variety of craft projects.

"Beverages will be available for sale at Art on Tap, and complimentary appetizers are provided to class participants making this a unique and fun social environment as well," said Clifton Park Center Mall General Manager Rob Ristau. "The cool part about the concept is that everyone can have fun doing this: from someone that’s never picked up a brush to accomplished painters."
