More room for Hondas

Mohawk Honda will expand its outdoor sales area with the takeover of the former Carbone Carpets lot next door on Freemans Bridge Road.

The car dealership now occupies nearly eight acres at its Glenville location.

“We have continued to see sustained growth since we moved to Glenville and we now need more outdoor inventory space to meet customer demand," said General Manager Nick Bonarrigo. "Customer choice is the foundation of Mohawk Honda’s success, and having an expanded selection will allow the dealership to offer more cars for immediate delivery.”

Mohawk Honda opened its 43,000-square-foot facility in Glenville in 2010 and currently employs nearly 100 people. The dealership announced Monday that it recently sold more than 350 new and used cars in April.

Mohawk Honda rents space at two other lots on Route 50 to store inventory. The expansion will now allow the dealership keep its inventory at its Freemans Bridge Road location, where it plans to upgrade the lot to match its main facility.

“This expansion will enable us to help better beautify the Freemans Bridge Road corridor while, at the same time, allow us to showcase more Hondas for our consumers,” said Bonarrigo.

Carbone Carpets announced in March it was closing its Freemans Bridge Road location to consolidate all its operations at its Scotia warehouse site.
