Interactive workshops planned for small businesses
The Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation is looking for small business owners and business hopefuls to sign up for a new workshop series that launches next week.
The Business Development Workshop Series is designed to be interactive and helpful in exploring ways to grow and develop a business. A workshop will be held every third Thursday of the month from February to June, beginning next week on Feb. 21. The workshops will be led by Amy Amoroso, a business advisor for the New York State Small Business Development Center.
The first workshop will focus on developing and improving your business planning skills. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. inside the Proctors Guild Room.
The workshops are free for DSIC members, but registration is required as space is limited. Non-members can register for $10. The DSIC asks that interested registrants RSVP by Wednesday at noon to Colleen Merays, who can be reached at 377-9430 or colleen@downtownschenectady.com
The next workshop will be held March 21 in the Fenimore Gallery at Proctors, and will cover cash flow analysis/projection, marketing strategies and customer service.
