Danes dig in against Colgate
UAlbany's football team really did the job tonight at Colgate with a 37-34 victory.
Earlier this week, legendary head coach Bob Ford said that his Great Danes needed to step it up in the running game. Omar Osbourne listened well. He ran for 252 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Overall, the Danes ran for nearly 350 yards.
Also impressive was the Danes' late goal-line stand that virtually wrapped up the game. UAlbany's defense also forced four turnovers. They had none in the opening-week loss at Duquesne.
Next up is UAlbany's first home game at Bob Ford Field against Rhode Island. It will also be the Danes' debut in the Colonial Athletic Association. UAlbany officials expect close to a full house to attend. That's means more than 8,000 fans.
