Danes hire Iati

One of the most popular players in University at Albany basketball history is coming back to the program.
Jon Iati, who is 19th on the Great Danes' all-time scoring list with 1,142 points, has been hired as an assistant coach after spending the last five years coaching at Quinnipiac.
Iati was a three-point specialist with a career percentage of .352. He was an integral part of the Great Danes' NCAA tournament teams. His younger brother, Jacob, became one of the team's starters down the stretch last season, will be playing his final season for the Danes. He is one of their captains.
UAlbany also announced that Simon Clement has been hired as a graduate assistant manager.
