The Union College men’s lacrosse team will host the seventh annual Bruce Allison Tournament on Sunday at Frank Bailey Field, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Union, Hartwick College, and Castleton State will participate in the tournament, which will feature three one-hour games.

Hartwick finished the 2012 season with a record of 7-8 (2-5 Empire 8), including a 17-10 win over Castleton State on March 27. Castleton State went 11-9 (7-1 North Atlantic Conference) and made it all the way to the NAC Finals, falling just short of an NCAA Tournament berth in a 15-11 loss to New England College.

Union will take on Castleton State at 10:30 a.m. in the first game of the tournament and will then play Hartwick College at 12:40 p.m.

Games will feature two 30-minute halves, running time, without timeouts. Technical fouls will be served for 45 seconds and personal fouls will be served for a minute and a half. Admission is free.

Last spring, Union advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time in program history with wins over Montclair State and No. 11 Bowdoin before a 9-4 loss at No. 2 SUNY Cortland on May 16. For the season, Union had one of the top defensive units in the nation, allowing just 6.17 goals per game (13th NCAA). The Dutchmen return four of their top six scorers from a season ago, including junior attack Rob Santangelo (25 goals, 24 assists).
