Berliner leads crowded leaderboard

Reigning Player of the Year Scott Berliner of Normanside Country Club shot an even-par 71 to lead a crowded leaderboard after the opening round of the Northeastern New York PGA Stroke Play Championship today at Mohawk Golf Club.

Nine players are within four shots of the lead heading into Tuesday's final round. One shot back are Ian Breen of Colonie Golf & Country Club, Bob Mucha of Greenock Country Club and Tom Sullivan of Wyantenuck Country Club.
