Some of the best amateur golfers in the Capital Region will be competing in the 2nd annual Bob Haggerty Two-Man Golf Championship Saturday and Sunday at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course.
Named after the late longtime head pro at Schenectady Municipal, the Haggerty Two-Man field is loaded with talent that will be divided into flights. Among the top teams are Robby Bigley Jr. with Justin Deitz, Brandon Haase with Mike Trunzo, Tom Salmon with Gary Grimaldi, Chris Barach with Bryan Barach, Jerry Wander with Justin McCarthy, Ben Bates with Mike Carroll, Jim Welch with Dave Pallas, Rob Bigley with Bill Moll, Ken Bessette with Chris Braman, Andy Bennett with Fred Case, Jim Cocca with Rocky Cocca and Kevin Cassidy with Earl Winchester.
Defending champions Don DeNyse III, the recent Albany County Amateur champion, and Jim Gifford, the former Saratoga County Amateur champion, are not competing because Gifford is playing in the Saratoga County Amateur this weekend at McGregor Links Country Club.
