Tonko, Buhrmaster debate energy, politics
Friday, October 31, 2008

In this week’s congressional debate on WVTL-AM (1570) in Amsterdam, candidates Paul Tonko of Amsterdam and Jim Buhrmaster of Scotia had the chance to question each other, producing two lively exchanges.

Tonko, former state assemblyman and former head of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, got to question Buhrmaster, who heads an energy company, on the subject of energy. Click here to listen.

Buhrmaster questioned Tonko regarding Buhrmaster’s criticism of Tonko’s support from Political Action Committees. The candidates also disputed on whether it was fair for Buhrmaster to call his opponent Taxing Tonko in campaign ads. Click here to listen.

Monday at 9 a.m., WVTL and www.1570wvtl.com will air a debate between the candidates for 105th District Assembly — incumbent Republican George Amedore and Democratic challenger Mark Blanchfield.
