Members of several local unions will hit the streets Sunday in support on congressional candidate Paul Tonko and state Assembly hopeful Mark Blanchfield.
The Capital District Area Labor Federation, which numbers 46 union locals as members, will host a rally at 1 p.m. Sunday at Malozzi's Restaurant on Curry Road in Rotterdam. The rally will be attended by both candidates, the federation said in a news release, as well as retiring U.S. Rep. Michael McNulty and Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton.
Following the rally, union members will knock on doors throughout Rotterdam and other parts of the district, according to the federation.
Tonko is the Democratic candidate for McNulty's 21st Congressional District seat and is running against Republican James Buhrmaster. Blanchfield, meanwhile, is the Democratic candidate opposing Republican incumbent George Amedore Jr. in the race for the 105th Assembly District seat.
