Shaver out, Freeman in

By Bill Palmer
Monday, March 31, 2014

A couple of changes in the boys' soccer coaching ranks in Section II.

Mike Shaver, who took over the Glens Falls varsity in 2003 and got the Indians into three Section II

championship games, resigned Monday. He rebuilt a program that struggled mightily after Tom

Harrington -- who started the program in 1973 -- stepped down.

CBA has hired Steve Freeman as its new boys' varsity coach. Freeman is founder and director of

prgramming for Black Watch Premier. He has also been a head coach at The College of Saint Rose,

and an assistant at Skidmore and Union Colleges.
