Covering Section II

School baseball: Schalmont, HV in rare company

Schalmont (Class B) and Hoosic Valley (Class C) won state baseball championships Saturday, marking only the third time Section II has had a pair of top New York teams in the same year.

Greenwich and Fort Ann lead Section II with four state titles apiece, and Watervliet has captured two.
