Girls lacrosse: Hardy nets 11 goals
Albany Academy for Girls senior Emma Hardy set a school record with 11 goals in Wednesday’s 16-5 win over Holy Names.
Three other Section II players notched 11 goals in a single game before Hardy joined them, according to stats that I have complied for the Daily Gazette. The Section II record of 12 goals was set by Shelby Wood of Holy Names in a 2010 contest with Schenectady.
Bridget Malicki scored 10 goals for Albany Academy twice, in 2009 and 2010, and Emma Malicki scored 10 for the Bears last year.
Here’s a look at the Section II girls’ single-game goal records. Contact me if you have any corrections or additions to the list. I track boys and girls single game goals (7 or more), assists (6 or more) and points (10 or more).
My girls records begin in 1990, which was the first year girls began playing in a Section II league.
