School tennis: Scotia Foothills champ
Scotia-Glenville clinched its fourth straight girls’ Foothills Council tennis championship Wednesday with a 4-3 victory at Queensbury.
Scotia-Glenville entered the match at 11-0 in the league and Queensbury was 10-1, and the Tartans secured the outright title when third singles Abby August defeated Amanda Rawson, 6-4, 7-6, in the final contest just before dark.
Sam Montague and Elizabeth Esker also won singles matches for the 14-2 overall Tartans, and Alyssa Salamone and Laura Ciotoli prevailed in doubles.
Montague, August and Esker went 12-0 in league play, as did Salamone and Ciotoli.,
