School field hockey: McGuire to Skidmore

Emma Willard senior goalkeeper Zoe McGuire has made a verbal commitment to play field hockey at Skidmore College, which is coming off an NCAA Division III final four appearance.

McGuire began playing field hockey as a sophomore, and earned Patroon Conference all-star accolades in each of her three varsity seasons with the Jesters. For her efforts this past season, she was selected to the all-state team.

The Delmar resident made 290 saves in her scholastic career, and in five games made at least 16 saves. She had an .866 save percentage, and posted 13 shutouts.

McGuire is a member of the ADK Field Hockey Club and competed at the National Field Hockey Festival during the Thanksgiving break.
