Amsterdam High senior Giuesppi Lanzi has been selected to compete on the New York team that will
meet the WPIAL all-star team at Saturday's Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic at the University of Pittsburgh.

Lanzi won a state Division I championship at 152 pounds this season, the weight he will compete at
this weekend. Lanzi was 42-0 this season, and finished 248-34 for his career. He is scheduled
to face Zack Shannon of Kiski Area.

Lanzi is the fifth Section II wrestler to be invited to the event, now in its 36th year.

Michael Chaires, not at the University of Virginia, had to decline an invitation in 2007 due to a family emergency. Matt Herrington
(LaSalle Institute, 2002, 171 pounds), Frank Fronhofer (Salem, 1989, 103) and Jon Cardi (Burnt Hills-
Ballston Lake, 1983, 155) all picked up wins while wrestling for Team USA against Team Pennsylvania.
