Week 1 NFL TV schedule

It’s what you have been waiting for since the Super Bowl ended last February.

It’s time for the weekly NFL broadcast schedule for the Capital Region. There will be a different look to the schedule. Don’t assume that, for example, when an AFC team is visiting an NFC team on Sundays that the game will be on CBS, home of the AFC. That will be the case this week, and Buffalo Bills fans in the area will benefit from that.

New this year is CBS will televise several Thursday night games, which will be simulcast on NFL Network. That starts next week. Also, CBS will have sideline reporters for several of its telecasts. And former NBC13 (WNYT) sportscaster Andrew Catalon will be calling games every Sunday for CBS.

Here is the Week 1 schedule. Announcers, in order of play-by-play, analyst and sideline reporter, are in parentheses:

NBC13 (WNYT) —
Green Bay at Seattle, 8:30 p.m. (Al Michaels/Cris Collinsworth/Michele Tafoya).

Oakland at N.Y. Jets, 1 p.m. (Jim Nantz/Phil Simms/Tracy Wolfson).
FOX23 (WXXA) — Buffalo at Chicago, 1 p.m. (Kenny Albert/Daryl Johnston/Tony Siragusa); San Francisco at Dallas. 4:30 p.m. (Joe Buck/Troy Aikman/Erin Andrews).
NBC13 (WNYT) — Denver at Indianapolis, 8:30 p.m. (Al Michaels/Cris Collinsworth/Michele Tafoya).
DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket — New Orleans at Atlanta, 1 p.m. (Kevin Burkhardt/John Lynch/Pam Oliver); Minnesota at St. Louis, 1 p.m. (Dick Stockton/Kirk Morrison/Kristina Pink); Washington at Houston, 1 p.m. (Thom Brennaman/David Diehl/Laura Okmin); Cincinnati at Baltimore, 1 p.m. (Spero Dedes/Solomon Wilcots); Tennessee at Kansas City, 1 p.m. (Kevin Harlan/Rich Gannon); New England at Miami, 1 p.m. (Greg Gumbel/Trent Green/Evan Washburn); Jacksonville at Philadelphia, 1 p.m. (Andrew Catalon/Steve Beuerlein/Steve Tasker); Cleveland at Pittsburgh, 1 p.m. (Ian Eagle/Dan Fouts/Jenny Dell); Carolina at Tampa Bay, 4:25 p.m. (Chris Myers/Ronde Barber/Jennifer Hale).
N.Y. Giants at Detroit, 7 p.m. (Mike Tirico/Jon Gruden/Lisa Salters); San Diego at Arizona, 10:20 p.m. (Chris Berman/Trent Dilfer/Lindsay Czarniak).
