Media Schotts: What to watch Memorial Day weekend

Back in the days when I had the Behind the Broadcast column, I would always highlight the big sporting events on TV for the Memorial Day weekend. It was an easy column to write.

I may not have the column anymore, but I can give you ideas on what to watch this weekend. Enjoy!

Saturday
-- ESPN2 has the NCAA men's lacrosse semifinals are at 1 and 3:30 p.m. Duke faces Denver in the opener, and Maryland takes on Notre Dame in the second game.

--The UEFA Champions League final is an all-Madrid affair as Real Madrid plays Atletico Madrid. Coverage starts at 2 p.m. on FOX23 (WXXA).

-- Game 3 of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs Western Conference final between the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings is on NBC13 (WNYT) at 8 p.m.

-- Game 3 of the NBA playoffs Eastern Conference final between the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat is on ESPN at 8:30 p.m.

-- The NCAA softball tournament super regionals are on ESPN at noon, 3 (if necessary) and 5 p.m., and on ESPN2 at 8 (if necessary) and 10 p.m.

Sunday
-- It's the Big Three auto racing day. It begins with the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix at 7:30 a.m. on NBC13. Coverage of the Indianapolis 500 begins at 11 a.m. on ABC10. FOX23 has the NASCAR Sprint Cup Coca-Cola 600 at 6 p.m.

-- Game 4 of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs Eastern Conference final between the Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers is on NBCSN at 8 p.m.

-- Game 4 of the NBA playoffs Western Conference final between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder is on TNT at 8:30 p.m.

-- Tennis' second major, the French Open, gets underway. ESPN2 starts its coverage at 5 a.m. (set the alarm), and NBC13 goes on the air at noon.

-- NBCSN has the title game from the World Hockey Championships at 2 p.m.

-- The Boston Red Sox-Tampa Bay Rays matchup is on MLB Network at 1:30 p.m.

-- NBC13 has the final round of the Senior PGA Championship at 3 p.m.

Monday
-- ESPN has the Red Sox at Atlanta at 1 p.m.

-- YES televises the Yankees at St. Louis at 4 p.m.

-- SNY has the Mets hosting Pittsburgh at 1 p.m.

-- The NCAA men's lacrosse championship game is on ESPN2 at 1 p.m.

-- Game 4 of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs Western Conference final between the Blackhawks and Kings is on NBCSN at 9 p.m.

-- Game 4 of the NBA playoffs Eastern Conference final between the Pacers and Heat is on ESPN at 8:30 p.m.
