End 1st period: Two power-play goals gives Dartmouth lead over Union

Power-play goals by Brandon McNally and Tim O'Brien have given 10th-ranked Dartmouth a 2-1 lead over top-seeded Union after the first period in Game 2 of their ECAC Hockey tournament quarterfinal series Saturday at Messa Rink.

The Dutchmen took a 1-0 lead on a Mike Vecchione goal 4:34 into the game.

Union was dominating Dartmouth, but the momentum changed when Noah Henry went off for holding at 10:27. McNally scored off of a rebound of an Eric Neily shot 1t 11:38. That ended Union's shutout streak at 200:45, and goalie Colin Steven's shutout streak of 140:45.

Shortly after that, Shayne Gostisbehere was called for hooking. O'Brien made him pay.

Dartmouth will start the second period with 34 seconds of power-play time after Gostisbehere was called for elbowing late in the first.

Each team has 11 shots on goal
