Field set for ECAC Hockey tournament

The ECAC Hockey tournament field is set. The best-of-three first-round series starts Friday.

Here are the matchups:
No. 12 Princeton (5-24) at No. 5 Clarkson (18-14-4).
No. 11 Harvard (10-15-4) at No. 6 Yale (15-9-5).
No. 10 Dartmouth (8-17-4) at No. 7 RPI (14-14-6).
No. 9 Brown (11-15-3) at No. 8 St. Lawrence (13-17-4).

The top four seeds who received first-round byes are No. 1 Union, No. 2 Colgate, No. 3 Quinnipiac and No. 4 Cornell. Those teams will host the best-of-three quarterfinals March 14-16.

The tournament's championship round will be in Lake Placid. The semifinals are March 21 at 4 and 7:30 p.m. The championship game is March 22 at 7:30 p.m. Remember, there is no third-place game.

Union is the two-time defending tournament champions. The Dutchmen are seeking to become the first team to win three straight titles since Boston University won four in a row from 1974 to 1977.
