After record-setting night against Yale, Union goalie Stevens gets day off against Brown

Union goalie Colin Stevens is getting a well-deserved day off today against Brown after his team record-setting 49-save effort in the Dutchmen's 2-0 ECAC Hockey win at Yale on Friday.

The junior from Niskayuna made the most saves in a Dutchmen shutout. The previous record was 42 saves, set by Trevor Koenig against Dartmouth in a 6-0 win on Feb. 15, 1997, at Achilles Rink (now Messa Rink). It's also the most saves in a road shutout since Justin Mrazek stopped 41 shots in a 2-0 win at Ferris State on Oct. 6, 2006.

Alex Sakellaropoulos will start in goal today for the Dutchmen against the Bears. It will be the freshman's first start and appearance in an ECACH game. It's Sakellaropoulos' first start since making 34 saves in Union's 4-1 win at then top-ranked St. Cloud State on Dec. 13.
