Leonard named RPI hockey captain

Senior defenseman Curtis Leonard has been named captain of the RPI hockey team for the 2014-15 season, Engineers coach Seth Appert said Wednesday.

Fellow seniors Luke Curadi, Matt Neal and Mark McGowan will be the alternate captains.

“I am pleased to announce our captains for next season, as our coaching staff is looking forward to working with them in pursuit of an ECAC championship and an NCAA tournament berth.” Appert said in a statement. “Leonard embodies what we value in our program with his toughness, competitiveness and team-first mentality, while Curadi, McGowan and Neal will provide critical leadership depth to help our team rise to the challenges that we will face during the season.”
