Union hockey expected to play in Notre Dame's Shillelagh Tournament
The NCAA hockey-champion Union Dutchmen are slated to play in the Shillelagh Tournament Nov. 28-29 at Notre Dame.
While the pairings haven't been officially announced, the Dutchmen are expected to face the Fighting Irish in a semifinal Nov. 28. The other teams in the tournament are Ohio State and Western Michigan.
It's possible that the Union-Notre Dame game could be on NBCSN. The cable network has a contract to televise Notre Dame home games.
It will be Union's second time in the tournament. The Dutchmen played in the inaugural Shillelagh Tournament in 2009. They lost to the Fighting Irish, 3-1, in the semifinal Jan. 2, and beat UMass Lowell, 2-1, in the third-place game the next day.
