Kings, Rangers to meet in Stanley Cup final (update)
With the Los Angeles Kings' 5-4 overtime win over the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 7 of the NHL Stanley Cup Western Conference final on Sunday, the Eastern Conference-champion New York Rangers now have an opponent for the Cup final.
The best-of-seven series starts Wednesday. The first two games will be on NBC Sports. NBCSN was originally set to televise Game 2 on Saturday. But with California Chrome chasing horse racing's Triple Crown, NBC wants to take advantage of the huge audience it should have for the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. NBC's Belmont Stakes coverage starts at 4:30, which will lead into Game 2 coverage at 7 p.m.
NBCSN will now get Game 4, which could potentially be a Cup-clinching game if one of the teams gets a 3-0 series lead. Personally, I believe all of the Cup final games should be on NBC. You get a bigger audience with the over-the-air coverage than with cable coverage.
Here is the Cup final schedule. I will have my prediction soon.
Game 1 Wed., June 4 8 p.m. NY Rangers at Los Angeles NBC, CBC, RDS
Game 2 Saturday, June 7 7 p.m. NY Rangers at Los Angeles NBC, CBC, RDS

UPDATE AT 12:40 A.M.: NBC announced that Kenny Albert, who called the Western Conference final on NBC and NBCSN, will call Game 1 of the Cup final. Mike Emrick is dealing with a death in the family. Emrick will be back on Saturday.
