Senior forward Daniel Carr had two goals and an assist Saturday, and Union clinched the top seed for the ECAC Hockey tournament with a 6-2 victory over St. Lawrence in the Dutchmen's final regular season home game at Messa Rink.

It's the third time in four years that the third-ranked Dutchmen (16-3-1 ECACH, 22-6-4 overall) have been the No. 1 seed.

Carr scored the final two goals of Union's three-goal second period. He one-timed a Shayne Gostisbehere pass past goalie Matt Weninger at 14:25. Just over two minutes later, Carr scored on a breakaway to make it 5-0.

Sebastien Gingras and Nick Cruice scored goals 22 seconds apart late in the first period. Mike Vecchione scored in the second, and Eli Lichtenwald added a third-period goal.

Alex Hagen and Gunnar Hughes scored in the third for the Saints.

Union closes out the regular season next weekend at Yale and Brown. It will host the best-of-three quarterfinals March 14-16.
