Daniel Ciampini scored twice and had an assist, an Union clinched the Cleary Cup for the thirdtime in four years with a 5-0 win over Clarkson Friday at Messa Rink.

The Dutchmen got some help from Cornell, which beat second-place Quinnipiac, 2-1. Union has a six-point lead over Quinnipiac. The teams split the season series, but the Dutchmen win the second tiebreaker, league wins. Union has 15, and Quinnipiac has 11.

It was originally thought that Union had clinched the top seed. However, Colgate is six points in back of the Dutchmen with three games left. The Raiders own the first tiebreaker, winning the season series.

The Dutchmen need one point to clinch the No. 1 seed.
