NBC Sports has two mobile apps for viewers to watch Winter Olympics

If you want to watch the Winter Olympics on your smartphone or tablets, NBC Sports has two apps for you.

The NBC Sports Live Extra app will allow cable, satellite and telco customers to live stream more than 1,000 exclusive hours of Sochi Olympics content, including all sports, all competition and all medal events.

The second app, NBC Olympics Highlights and Results, will be home to up-to-date TV and online streaming schedules, live results, athlete profiles and replays of the Games most memorable moments. In addition, through the "Primetime Companion" section, the app will serve as the signature second-screen tool for NBC’s nightly prime-time coverage.

Time Warner Cable subscribers will have access to these apps. TWC does not have an agreement with NBC to show programming from many of NBC Sports Group's cable channels, but NBCSG is allowing TWC to have its customers see the Olympics on their mobile devices.

The apps are available select Android handheld and tablet devices within Google Play, on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and available to download from the Windows Phone Store on Windows Phone 8 devices.

The Winter Games start Thursday night on NBC and WNYT-13.
