RPI men's hockey coach Seth Appert will compete in his first marathon next month while attempting to raise awareness and funds in the process.

Appert will run in the Adirondack Marathon on Sept. 28 in Schroon Lake. He will be running in memory of Richard Curadi, whose son, Luke, is a senior defenseman for the Engineers. Richard Curadi, a soldier with 32 years in the Marines and Army, passed away last month.

All proceeds will be donated to Defending the Blueline. To learn more about it, click here.

"It is an honor to continue our work with Defending The Blue Line," Appert said. "Luke started our involvement with the charity 15 months ago, and our relationship has grown stronger ever since. I am humbled to run in honor of Rich while continuing the RPI hockey family mission of providing hockey opportunities to military families."
