Haggerty named RPI hockey MVP

RPI junior forward Ryan Haggerty was named the team's most valuable player at the Engineers' season-awards banquet Saturday night.

Haggerty, who signed a contract with the New York Rangers shortly after the season ended, led the Engineers in scoring with 28 goals and 15 assists. He led ECAC Hockey in goals in league play with 14.

Sophomore defenseman Craig Bokenfohr was a double winner, taking Most Improved Player and Top Scholar-Athlete.

Senior forward Brock Higgs won the Ben Mayo Most Inspirational Player Award. Sophomore Chris Bradley was named Best Defenseman. Forward Jimmy DeVito was named Most Outstanding Freshman. Sophomore forward Travis Fulton captured the Community Service Award.
