Union recruit Ammirato keeps Amarillo alive in NAHL playoffs

Union hockey 2014-15 recruit Roman Ammirato had two assists, including on the overtime game-winner by Tyler Gernhofer, as the Amarillo Bulls stayed alive in the North American Hockey League playoffs with a 3-2 victory over the Topeka Road Runners.

The Bulls are down, 2-1, in the best-of-five South Division final series.

Ammirato also assisted on Ben Jentsch's goal with 5:55 left in the third period that tied the score, 2-2.

Game 4 is Friday night.

Ammirato is tied for the league lead in scoring during the playoffs with three goals and seven assists in six games.
