Ken Schott blogs about college hockey & more honors Union's Bennett, four players

The honors continue to pour for the the NCAA hockey-champion Union Dutchmen. recently handed it out its postseason awards. Dutchmen coach Rick Bennett was named USCHO Coach of the Year. That gives Bennett three coach of the year honors. He was named AHCA Spencer Penrose Award winner as national coach of the year. He also took the College Hockey News Coach of the Year.

The Dutchmen placed four players on the All-USCHO teams. Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere made the first team, while fellow blue liner Mat Bodie earned second-team honors. Also on the second team was senior forward Daniel Carr. Goalie and Niskayuna native Colin Stevens made the third team.
