Frozen Four final: Union beats BC, advances to NCAA title game

Union is going to play for the NCAA hockey championship.

Daniel Ciampini had a hat trick, powering Union to a 5-4 victory over Boston College in the NCAA Frozen Four semifinal Thursday at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Dutchmen (31-6-4) will face the winner of the Minnesota-North Dakota semifinal in Saturday's national championship game at 7:30 p.m.

Ciampini, who scored in the second period, tipped a Shayne Gostisbehere high-slot shot past goalie Thatcher Demko for a power-play goal at 6:31. He later added an empty-net goal.
