Ex-NBA, Albany Patroons coach Karl returns to ESPN
Former NBA and Albany Patroons coach George Karl is rejoining ESPN and an analyst, it was announced Monday.
As part of the multiyear agreement, Karl will provide analysis for a variety of studio shows, including "SportsCenter," "NBA Coast 2 Coast," "NBA Tonight" and other news and information programming. He will make his debut on the 11 p.m. edition of "SportsCenter" on Saturday.
Karl, who was fired by the Denver Nuggets at the end of the season, even though he was named NBA Coach of the Year, previously worked for ESPN during the 2003-04 season.
“I’m excited to be back at ESPN and to offer the insights that I’ve gathered from 25 years of coaching,” Karl said in a statement. “It’s going to be a fun season ahead and I’m looking forward to sharing it with our viewers.”
