Ex-Union center Jooris rallies Flames past Oilers, 6-5, in shootout

Former Union College hockey center Josh Jooris scored two late third-period goals to tie the score, and the Calgary Flames rallied from a 5-2 deficit to beat the Edmonton Oilers, 6-5, in a shootout in an NHL preseason game Saturday at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta.

It was the first preseason game for both teams.

Jooris, who was named the game's second star, scored his goals 2:02 apart. His first one was an even-strength goal that made the score 5-4 with 6:53 left. His game-tying goal came on the power play with 4:01 to go.

Jooris drew a hooking penalty against the Oilers' Taylor Hall late in overtime, but the Flames didn't cash in.

It's been a good start for Jooris' pro career. At last week's Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Classic, Jooris had two assists in three games.
