FOX sees World Series ratings increase

The Boston Red Sox's World Series championship was good for FOX Sports.

The Red Sox's win in six games over the St. Louis Cardinals averaged an 8.9 rating, a 15 share and 14.9 million viewers, FOX announced Thursday. That is a 17 percent increase over last year's 7.6/12, 12.7 million viewers), according to Nielsen Media Research. Last year's series was a four-game sweep for the San Francisco Giants over the Detroit Tigers.

The Red Sox's series-clinching 6-1 win Wednesday got a 11.3/18 national household rating and share, with 19.2 million viewers. In Boston, the rating was a incredible 55.2/75.
