Ex-Union center Welsh plays nearly 12 minutes for Canucks against Devils Thursday
Former Union College hockey center Jeremy Welsh had 11:51 of ice time for the Vancouver Canucks in their 3-2 shootout win over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday in Newark, N.J.
It was the second straight game Welsh had over 11 minutes of ice time. He played 11:08 Tuesday against the New York Islanders.
Welsh didn't have a shot on goal. He was called for a high-sticking penalty at 8:21 of the first period, and that led to a power-play goal by Eric Gelinas, who was called up from the Albany Devils on Wednesday.
Welsh was recalled by the Canucks from the AHL's Utica Comets last Saturday.
